ANGLETERRE, 31 déc. 2016 (AMP) — 15ème victoire de la saison pour Sheffield United qui confirme sa grande forme. Après les victoires contre Swindon, le Coventry et Oldham, les “Blades” poursuivent sur leur lancée en s'imposant 1-0 samedi à Bramall Lane face à Northampton, à l'occasion de la 24ème journée de la troisième division anglaise.
Après 45 minutes de jeu, Sheffield United et Northampton Town n'auront pas réussi à se départager. 0-0 à la pause, tout s'est décidé en seconde période avec le but délivreur de Freeman Kieron à une minute de la fin du temps réglementaire.
Avec 50 points, Sheffield United prend la tête du classement, 2 points devant le second Scunthorpe United à qui il reste cependant un match à jouer.
