ANGLETERRE, 14 oct. 2017 (AMP) — Quatrième succès d'affilé pour Wigan Athletic qui fait à nouveau preuve d'un grand réalisme. Après les victoires contre Plymouth, Walsall et Scunthorpe, les Latics poursuivent sur leur lancée en s'imposant 3-0 samedi à domicile face à Southend, à l'occasion de la 13ème journée de la troisième division anglaise.
Wigan Athletic a dominé la première période grâce au but de Jacobs Michael dès la 8e minute. Menant 1-0 à la pause, les joueurs de Wigan Athletic ont encore accru leur avantage en seconde période en marquant à deux reprises (Powell Nick 84e et Toney Ivan 88e).
Avec 31 points au compteur, Wigan Athletic prend la tête du classement, à égalité de point avec le second Shrewsbury Town.
