ANGLETERRE, 20 sep. 2014 (AMP) — Troisième succès d'affilé pour Southend United qui fait à nouveau preuve d'un grand réalisme. Après les victoires contre Portsmouth et Cheltenham, les “Shrimpers” poursuivent sur leur lancée en s'imposant 3-2 samedi à l'extérieur face au York, lors de la 9ème journée de la quatrième division anglaise.
Weston a ouvert le score sur pénalty à la 9e minute, avant de voir York City égaliser à la 45e grâce à Penn. 1-1 à la pause. Southend United l'a finalement remporté en seconde période grâce aux buts de Hurst (52e) et Payne (78e).
Avec 17 points au compteur, Southend United passe désormais de la 7ème à la 4ème place du classement, à seulement un point du troisième les Wycombe Wanderers.
