ANGLETERRE, 17 jan. 2015 (AMP) — Après une série de trois matchs nuls, contre Dagenham & Redbridge, Northampton Town puis Plymouth Argyle, les “Shrimpers” renouent avec le succès en s'imposant 3-2 samedi à l'extérieur face à Oxford, dans le cadre de la 26ème journée de la quatrième division anglaise.
Oxford United avait pourtant bien entamé la rencontre en prenant l'avantage grâce à O Dowda (13e) et Long (45e), contre une seule réalisation pour Southend Worrall (25e). Menés 2-1 à la pause, les joueurs de Southend United sont cependant parvenus à inverser le cours du match en marquant à deux reprises en seconde période (Pigott 48e et Corr 82e).
Avec 44 points, Southend United se maintient à la 6ème place du classement, à 2 points du cinquième Newport County.
