ANGLETERRE, 8 mai. 2016 (AMP) — Après 2 victoires d'affilées contre Southend United et Blackpool, les Latics se sont inclinés 1-4 contre Barnsley dimanche , à l'occasion de la 46ème et dernière journée de la troisième division anglaise. (Doublé de Winnall Sam) Wigan Athletic avait ouvert le score à la 10e minute grâce à Grigg Will, avant que Barnsley ne reprenne l'avantage avec Winnall Sam (33e sur pénalty, 44e). Menant 2-1 à la pause, les joueurs de Barnsley ont encore accru leur avantage en seconde période en marquant à deux reprises (Hourihane Conor 56e et Brownhill Josh 74e). Avec 87 points, Wigan Athletic remporte le titre 2015/16 de la troisième division anglaise. Barnsley se classe 6ème.
