D2 anglaise (16e journée) : Brentford s'impose face à Leeds United 3 à 1
ANGLETERRE, 4 nov. 2017 (AMP) — Troisième succès d'affilé pour Brentford qui fait à nouveau preuve d'un grand réalisme. Après les victoires contre Preston et Birmingham City, les Bees poursuivent sur leur lancée en s'imposant 3-1 samedi à domicile face à Leeds United, à l'occasion de la 16ème journée de la deuxième division anglaise.
Brentford a dominé la première période grâce au but de son attaquant français Neal Maupay à la 22e minute. Menant 1-0 à la pause, les joueurs de Brentford ont encore accru leur avantage en seconde période en marquant à deux reprises (Barbet 85e et Woods Ryan 90e).
Avec 23 points au compteur, Leeds United passe de la 7ème à la 10ème place du classement, à égalité de point avec le neuvième Middlesbrough à qui il reste cependant un match à jouer.
