ANGLETERRE, 22 nov. 2014 (AMP) — Troisième succès d'affilé pour Southend United qui fait à nouveau preuve d'un grand réalisme. Après les victoires contre Mansfield et Hartlepool, les “Shrimpers” poursuivent sur leur lancée en s'imposant 2-1 samedi à l'extérieur face à Tranmere, lors de la 18ème journée de la quatrième division anglaise.
Southend United a dominé la première période grâce aux buts de Payne (16e) et Aimson (23e contre son camp). Menés 2-0 à la pause, le but de Power sur pénalty à la 53e minute ne permettra pas aux joueurs des Tranmere Rovers de revenir au score.
Avec 31 points au compteur, Southend United passe désormais de la 7ème à la 5ème place du classement, à 2 points du quatrième Shrewsbury Town.
